The first of the annual explosion of Snakes-head Fritillary at North Meadow, Cricklade have started to break ground.
Still a couple of weeks away from being all out and in the glory, but a few early starters are begining to flower.
In this stage it is easy to see how they gained the name Snakes-head.
This was taken today, but I plan to return when more are out and in later development.
I resisted the temptaion to clone out the yellow flower in the foreground, in the end I thought it worked in well with the overall shot.
