A break this evening from the Puffin shots, I have a few more which I would like to upload in the next few days but don't want to overload with too many of them, and there are so many top quality images being uploaded of Puffins mine look a little ordinary alongside them.
So instead a land/sea scape from our Isle of Mull trip, and one which I was just so lucky to get.
Again I know that I can not compete with some of the superb photographers on epz who upload such fantastic work on a daily basis, I always find it hard to really do the scene in front of me justice, but I just had to try to get this on my card.
This is taken overlooking Loch Beg, and had followed a quick short, sharp rain shower, the clouds were rolling away and the sun was just starting to break through again.
The sunlight lit up the wet rocks and seaweed forming a glorious colour combination, and for a brief period a rainbow formed over the Loch.
Quickly finding a safe place to stop on the narrow Island roads, I grabbed my kit and rushed to try to get into a position to capture the scene, in my rush I almost fell over on the rocks, but managed to find a spot and fumbled to get everthing set, I could see the rainbow fading and just managed to get a few shots before it went for good.
Its always a bit hard for us to get sunrise/sunset shots on the island due to our guest house we always stay at shutting the gates to their driveway early in the evening long before sunset to stop the deer roaming through the gardens, so to get a chance to grab a shot with some interest in the sky during the day was a real bonus.
I hope you like it as much as I did when I saw it on my camera LCD.
Thanks for looking
Phil

A stunning scene Phil, the light is wonderful and the rainbow is the icing on the cake
A beautifully captured landscape. The light and colour are stunning. Truly superb.
Steve.
Excellent image and able to hold its own with the best.
Alun
Don't worry, Phil, there are just as many not-so-good landscape pictures uploaded on here, but this just cannot come into that category, it has wonderful warm tones and the rainbow is glorious, no wonder you rushed to capture it, rainbows are so transient.
well for me it is a rare image that does not happen and you caught it well.
Don't put yourself down, your photography skills are up there with the best of them and photography is about catching that moment in time, that moment in time that will never happen again.
well done great image.
Personally i would have liked to see this as an editors choice.
Ian.
