A slight change of tack for this evening's upload.

Moving away from the Garden Birds which I have featured a lot recently and heading out on the water, to a lake at a local country Park.

This is a Male Pochard, one of the diving ducks that can be seen on our waters, and I captured this guy amongst a small group of Tufted Ducks with whom they tend to hang around with.

the creamy white colouration of the water was caused by the reflection of a structure in the lake, and I like the effect it has given and the way it shows the lovely deep chestnut colour of the birds head.

I hope you like this shot.

Phil

The lovely red head of the Pochard helps to add punch to the shot Phil.Good eye contact and detail in the darker chest has been well held.

Excellent capture for all the reasons already mentioned, just a shame it has been slightly over sharpened, as the haloing around the head slightly spoils it for me.

Regards
Terry.

Thanks all.

Terry/Janet.

I've checked the large .tif file of this image and the halo isn't present so I wonder if this could be a result of the "save to web" compression in Photoshop.
Thanks for pointing it out though Smile
