One of just a few shot's that I like from Sunday's RIAT, which had nothing like the weather that the Saturday crowd enjoyed and suffered from a host of cancellations and altered flying displays as a result.
The sun finally broke through the massed banks of dark grey cloud during the final display of the show, a Spitfire and Typhoon representing the vintage and modern RAF Fighter aircraft.
Amazing thing was, despite the obvious power of the Typhoon's jet engine, when it was throttled back you could still hear the lovely roar of the Spitfires Merlin engine....glorious!!
Hope you like this and thank you for the kind remarks on yesterday's upload, "The Lark Ascending"

Great light and great composition.
At last, someone who can photograph a moving prop.
Nice work.
Steinbeck.
I think the weather conditions have given you a more atmospheric image.

I was going to say the very same thing - well done great shot
Indeed it looks like Saturday was a better day weather wise. However, you've made the most of the conditions and got a cracking shot of the spit with moody clouds in the background.
Hi Andy, nice capture of the plane and as Dave has mentioned a slower shutter spedd would have blurred the prop movement and enhanced the shot even more.
What speed were you using?
If you look at my recent upload from the Sunday at RIATof the Spitfire I had a speed of 1/250 sec at ISO 200.
Hope this helps
This is a great shot. I see what you mean about the shutter speed.
Don't laugh but i was set at 1/2000!!!!
Thanks for the advice.
Andy
