A proud poppy, standing tall in a field of Linseed.
It was blowing a gale when I shot this, handheld, with my sigma 170-500 at full zoom, so I was lucky to get something fairly sharp.

Thanks for looking.

Phil

Thank you all, I'm so happy that this has got so much attention, it was a look I had planned for some time after continually driving past the field.

The wind was a nightmare however as Brian has mentioned, and I have numerous shots from the same point of view with the poppy being blown out of the frame or blurred from the movement.

I admire your perseverance, and am so glad you got something worth uploading. There have been many poppy pictures on the site, but this is one of the best.

Great image Phil - the subtle blue and yellow flower tones really make the red poppy 'pop' against the green bg.
Worth persevering for.

Love the red, green and yellow mixture in this one, you did well to get the delicate poppy in focus in such windy conditions. This is super work.
