In the words of Mr Titchmarsh a great place to be 'whatever the weather.'
Seems a long time ago now, roll on March.
Lovely low light photography. Lighthouse with rocks and waves, and the approaching night. Splendid shot.
Dark and moody, love it
Beautiful image !
Full of menacing mood Mel. Ron.

yes seems quite awhile back now... but March ? winks.. good xx
Top notch a excellent image well done
WOW utterly stunning capture Melanie !
A beautifully composed coastal landscape, captured at a marvellous time of day to give that colouring, and full of drama, if not menace. Lovely work.
Absolute Stunner!... Beautiful work Melanie.
Beautiful but treacherous .Gill
Congratulations on the Editor's Choice!
An image from a dream, expertly captured, and beautifully presented.
Fabulous image the moody tones and light give this a really winters storm look.
Many congrats on the EC well deserved.
Very nice indeed. Full of mood and atmosphere.
The EC was never in doubt for me! Congrats Melanie
Wonderful image and congratulations on the EC.
AP have just done an article on lighthouse photography and this is better than any featured in that article.
A very atmospheric image
I saw the thumbnail and thought that looks good. To see it large is to love it. No wonder it's got our attention. V. well done indeed!
Looks superb, full of drama and bags of mood about it, congrats on the EC
Accept my UA too.......
The blue (early morning?) light is very striking and works so well.
The glow emaninating from the blurred surk really makes the shot for me.
Stunning and deserved all the awards.
Great shot - like the blue colours.
A great atmospheric shot. Even better when viewed large
Great to see this as photo of the week. I recognised it as soon as it came up. This takes me back (oh my God) 50 years to childhood holidays at Portsalon and trips out to the head itself. I was even able to go up the light in the days of easy visiting. It was a fantastic feeling with the ocean out to the north and West and Malin Head to the east.
Superb photo, really epic shot
so beautiful! each detail is perfect, very harmonious. Great shot
Going to look good as a canvas!
Congrats on the POTW, well deserved.
First of all congrats on POTW. Fantastic photo and love the movemoent of the sea!!! rgds Paul
I'm blown away by the response to this one.
First: thank you Mr B for the EC and POTW, when photography has had to take a back seat of late it will spur me on.
Many thanks to Phil, Paul, Jeanie, Ian and Jouko for your UA's.
Thank you also to all that have shown their support for this image and others over my few years on the site.
For those who might be interested this was an image taken (I still have a hard time saying this "image was made") on my last evening in Donegal after staying on after the Donegal Meet. The wind was whipping up the waves and was a battle to hang onto the tripod and to keep wiping away the seaspray. This was the second to last image of the night, 20 sec exposure. The grad was still on from earlier which along with the WA creates the vignetting that you see. Next time if I have my wits about me I might remember to remove the filter!
Beautiful Melanie, many congrats for all your awards, and a superb image
tip top and congratulations.
Top picture , well done
An artist expression.
Well done Mel, deserves all the awards. Have mine too, Wonderful stuff.
Congratulations on all the well deserved awards for this great image.
Wonderful image Mel! Well done.
Beautiful shot. Has a meloncholic quality enhanced by the blue
A cracking image!
WOW! This one is really a WOW-photo! At least that is what I said out loud when I saw it. Good effort, Mel!
Fantastic shot. Love the colour. You've done a great job here Mel. Paul
Only just seen this one Melanie - not really been here for a while - but I love it - very moody, great choice of shutter speed and just works really well.
The more I see photos of this part of Ireland the more I think I must get there some time - thank you for showing this one.
I can easily see why this has had so much feedback, it's aterrific shot with bags of atmosphere.
