Hi all, thanks again for all the fantastic comments, UA's and the HC award from EPZ............................

The Forth Bridge is a cantilever railway bridge over the Firth of Forth in the east of Scotland, to the east of the Forth Road Bridge, and 14 kilometres (9 mi) west of central Edinburgh. It was opened on 4th March 1890, and spans a total length of 2,528.7 metres (8,296 ft). It is often called the Forth Rail Bridge or Forth Railway Bridge to distinguish it from the Forth Road Bridge, although it has been called the "Forth Bridge" since its construction, and was for over seventy years the sole claimant to this name. The bridge was begun in 1883, took 7 years to complete, cost the lives of 98 men and nearly 58,000 tonnes (128,000,000 lb) of metal and used 10 times as much metal as the Eiffel Tower. It was deliberately chosen to look strong, due to the collapse 4 years earlier of the first Tay Bridge.

Its been a strange weekend, had a total bank out if you can call it that, tip toeing by the campers at Loch Etive on Saturday stood and watched as the most fantastic pink sky came up behind me. I thought how stunning the Loch will be, only to be totally left gob smacked as the sky in a mater of minutes right above my head turned pure blue. Wrong place wrong time. Spent the next 1/2 hour talking to the campers. The wind had got up by now and even with a fast shutter speed the day seemed gone. So went out today as usual in the dark a good 2 hours before sun up to drive the hour to Firth of Forth. Took this just before the sun came up but was very overcast and as I stood there thought a conversion was in order. Hope you enjoy it as much as I do......................

have a great week............

Paul.

The sky and the lights look great, but it's the composition that impresses me most, with the anchor in the foreground, not overlapping any part of the bridge and yet seeming to be pointing up at it (in a yoga positionGrin).

Kate, the lights had such a strong glow that that's why they said more in a star profile. Also no fancy Lee filters this time, 15 seconds did not seem long, using the aperture at 14.0 gave me that longer time and just a little tweak with ISO and compensation just on plus side, gave me what I was looking for...........colour looked great but light just a little to bright.

Paul.
