Hopefully being brave converting this to monochrome which works best for me . Mountain View farm is an isolated farm abandoned sometime in the 1950's I think. It lies close to Backside Beck which joins The River Rawthey near to Cautley famous for it's Spout which is a main feature of the Howgills . As recenly as 1998 it was used in a fairly low budget film where interior shots of the kitchen were used . Now just used for grazing a few sheep and storage of winter fodder etc. Many thanks for recent clicks and comments. All very much appreciated ....Phil

Wonderful B&W image. So beautifully textured and detailed. Exquisite!
Brian.
The B and W conversion works for me too, Phil: and I like the composition too.
For some reason the first thoughts that came to mind when viewed the image initially was that is how the moors seem to be depicted in Wuthering Heights. A flight of fancy I suppose!
Ronnie.
A great image, I'm a huge fan of mono. I can't stop looking at it, stunning! ![]()

This is a real cracker, Phil. Love the composition and the subject, and above all the atmosphere evoked by your very fine b&w treatment. Excellent.

A super and very dramatic mono, Phil, great composition and capture ![]()
Thanks for your vote & comments on my 'Washday!' upload - no, I haven't visited Torcello, but I see it's just north of Burano, so may try to make it there next time I go to Venice ![]()
Just booked a few days stay in Whitby in June, from Monday 11th to Friday 15th, so if you happen to be in the area, could meet up! ![]()

A good image Phil, a good composition and well suited to the converstion But IMHO, it looks just a little flat, not sure how to resolve that, but I'm sure someone here will be able to advise. Lovely nonetheless
Gritty and contrasty and works beautifully, Phil, and an excellent pov to get that composition. Great piece of work.

Has the hard precision of an engraving. Suitable for a harsh way of life.
Moira
a very special conversion turned this lovely shot into silver.
Looks like indrared.
Excellent mono conversion Phil
A great location

Wonderful image, Phil. Love it. Great conversion and comp.

Just like Moira, I felt it had the look of an engraving. Excellent composition and a marvellous sky.

have to agree with this statement and the fact its a belter
The curving fence and hill lines. The perfect composition. The stark suggestion of 'dirt farm'. The cloud and general contrast suggests an orange filter if it were a B&W. Excellent.
