A quick post from my laptop as I am away at the moment, as spring is on its way, spent a bit of time scouting for possible locations for the mating ritual.

This internet malarki means that I shall have to comment on the same shot on various forums 
I've just had a look at this shot on UKNP and liked it so over here I can click it and give you a vote.

Graeme.. yes it is slightly dark, posted from my laptop now that I can see it on my main computer when resized for the web the compression has darkened the midtones, make a note to check in the future...

Hi Phil,
I've looked at this image several times now and the more I view it the more I like it.
A beautiful bird which is shown off to great effect by that calm water.
What I find particularly appealing about this image is how well the brown coloured water suits the subject,makes a change also from the more usual blue water usually seen.
A top shot,IMO.
