Took a trip yesterday to try out thye new lens, driving down watched the clouds getting thicker and darker whilst listening to the weather forcast telling me it was going to be a nice morning with extended sunny intervals, cloud will obviously clear I thought.
Settled myself into a hide, thinking that at least I will stay dry and warmish, and waited and waited and.... two cormorants kept me company for a short while, then there was a short break in the cloud and three Reedlings started fitting around feeding. Unfortunately they didn't come close enough even with the 2x on the lens so this is a hefty crop.
First impressions of the lens are that it will be great, I might have a focus issue with the converters but that is probably down to me, my technique and the dull generally low contrast light I had to contend with for most of the time. Really have to get a lot of practice in with a heavy monster of a lens.
All the best
