I am middle-aged, married, and a father of daughters. I reside on the Southern Highlands of New South Wales, Australia.
I have always been interested in photography, and during my teenage years I was always the one in the family who captured the images of family holidays, birthdays, and important events. In my early twenties, I commenced entering images into competitions at local shows. At first I achieved moderate success, but as the years passed by, my images would often gain a number of 1st, 2nd and 3rd placings. In 2006, I not only won many 1st, 2nd and 3rd placings, but I also won the 'Most Outstanding Exhibit', and 'Most Successful Competitor' at two local shows. One of these images went on to beat the 'Most Outstanding Exhibit' from 14 other shows in the region.
As photography entered the digital age, I soon replaced my film camera with my first digital camera. This opened up a whole new world to me, and I soon started entering my photos into a number of international online photography competitions. I went on to win many 'Photo of the Day' awards, and this became completely addictive. Over the next few years, I won thousands of dollars worth of prizes on these sites. After winning many awards, I accepted the position as a judge on one of the sites, and I am now also the judge in the photography section at one of the largest annual shows in my region.
In 2007, I was introduced to the world of Microstock Photography. I bought a new camera and some prime lenses, and joined a number of international Microstock Photography sites, where I commenced selling my work. Since joining these sites, I have gone on to specialise in travel photography, and I now spend a number of weeks each year overseas, capturing images, and uploading them to these sites. I delight in the fact that I actually achieve a reasonable income on the side from pursuing my passion.....photography.
I consider myself to be a versatile photographer. Although I prefer travel and landscape photography, I also enjoy capturing people, cityscapes, industrial, architectural and macro images.
