This shot gives such an excellent impression of the wide flat plain on which Stonehenge sits: captured at an excellent time of day with that strong side lighting and shadows cast.

The central positioning works very well here. Did you have to clone a lot of people out? When I was there at dawn I had to shoot blind above the fence and then once they opened it was like Piccadilly Circus!

The mellow f/g light gives the stones a good podium.
The shadows enhance the shapes and the sky is a gentle backcloth.
