I think I took one similar this morning, hope it comes out as good. Very nice!

Pleasure to meet you, Andrew, hope our paths cross again.

This looks familiar, PhilWink
Lovely contrast between the steam and sky, something I have not achieved in my various visits.

It is certainly a nightmare to try and line things up here.

Jasmine by TrevBatWCC

Trevor, you couldn't go wrong with Jasmine, she was indeed very natural and great fun.

Dependence by chase

Janet, this tells a great story and is brought to life with exquisite lighting.
Congratulations on the family addition.

Media City by night (Home of the BBC) Salford Quays, Manchester. Uk by Phil_Ingham

Assuming you had a tripod I would go with manual and try an aperture of f/11 or f/16. Your wide aperture of f/3.5 has resulted in the street lights appearing as blobs but a smaller aperture would give nice starbursts. The resultant long exposure would smooth out the ripples in the water giving better reflections.
The composition and overall image is great, especially with Moira's crop suggestions. I would love to get to this place!
A warm welcome from me too.Smile

Symmetry of light and shadows

Symmetry of light and shadows by Richsr

The shadows certainly make this work extremely well, Richard.

Thanks again for your comments and mod. As you said I can learn alot from this shot and I have received some really good critique. As I walked past the area again afterwards I felt that I would have probably got a better result had I taken it from the opposite side so that the sun was behind me but I couldn't get my daughter to pose again. I have much to learn in the post processing department I think but I will enjoy doing so.

Regards, Phil

Hi Lisa,
Many thanks for the mod on my upload. When I browsed your portfolio I thought you specialised in flowers but you really are a very good all-rounder. This is excellent work and I look forward to seeing more. Phil
