Another as-built photo from our recent project in Wakefield. It's another hdr so look away now, WillieWink
Any comments regarding technique, composition or anything else most welcome. I wasn't entirely sure what to do with standard on the lhs: leave it or crop it out?
Thanks,
Phil

Comments as before. Excellent image which the 'customer'will love. HDR will be recognised by the keen photographer, but not by Joe public, who will accept this as a great engineering record. If it is a record, you shouldnt clone bits out.

Thanks Paul, I wasn't looking to clone anything out, just not sure where to cut off the handrail on the left.

I like this one a lot better Phil, - looks good. Very detailed, very sharp, very vibrant. Clouds better than before.

I hope you will agree that this isn't a particularly attractive subject, Phil, but you have made it attractive, and I even found myself inspecting the different parts and wondering what they were for.
The HDR is so much more subtle here, the grid has interesting patterns and the sky is perfect.
As to cropping the left side, I think it is quite well balanced as presented.
The only thing that I might clone out is the red and white cone at the end of the walkway. That is something which is movable, and therefore removable.
Pamela.

They look a damn site worse with the covers removed, PamelaWink
Good point about the cone, I should have just moved it!
Thanks for your input.

Another excelent industrial skyscape Phil, I have to disagree with Pamela on this, I as a retired consultant engineer do find this an attractive subject and I suppose I always will. But that is neither here nor there just a difference in personal perception.

My comments as per your previous upload still apply.

Nice work,

Frank

In that case, composition spot on.

I like this image, despite the subject being a mystery to me as I'm not from the engineering camp. I like the composition but if I had to crop out some stuff, it would be cropping just a little bit from the RHS only - the LHS adds rhythm to the image, and I like the different textures showing, the walkway in particular. The HDR is not visible to me, but I'm guessing without HDR one of your shots had a white(ish) sky right?

Well done anyway, I like the perspective in this too. I uploaded a modification that gives more prominence to the elements showing the most perspective - check it out.

Thanks for the mod, Alistair, I do like the crop to the right but not so sure with losing some from the bottom. Regarding the hdr: yes, if I exposed for the screens, the sky was blown out.
