I posted a version of this a few weeks ago in the Critique Gallery and received some great advice on how I could have taken the shot better and how I could correct it in software. I didn't get a chance to revisit the place so I have been learning PS Elements to try and emulate the many excellent mods that were offered. I'm not sure it is quite there but a good improvement on the original. I have also cropped at 7x5 for printing.
Many, many thanks to those that took the time to help me with this.
Please enjoy.
Phil

Comparing this image with that of 22nd. May, I think you have made changes which have uplifted the shot so well. The composition is tighter and the skin tones more natural and less shadowed. A beautiful setting in which to photograph the wee girl. Very well done.

I never saw the last one but this looks good to me, nice work. Don't forget though that you don't always need eye contact, candid shots of this type with the girl looking down at the flowers, smelling them or even skipping along away from you work well too.

Darren.

Thanks for the kind comments guys.
Darren, I got a set of about 4 shots with her in the bluebells, one of which had her looking down at the flowers but I just felt this one was better overall. Her face was underexposed on the original and this was even more evident with her head down.
Cheers,
Phil
