The Church on the marsh.

The Church on the marsh. by derekhansen

Great lighting and composition - looks wider than 17mm, overall top shot.

Focus? Copyright? Background?

Great timing Alun - well timed to get the wave breaking in the background and the mini waterfall in the foreground. The sky is pretty good as well by the way.

Well worth keeping!!! I like the long exposure of the water against the sharpness of the rocks

A really good still life - great lighting and well processed. The background sets the whole think off.

Jennifer

Jennifer by derekhansen

Great depth of field and the spread of the poopies into the background is spot on.
As you've asked!!! I think the light on the face may be a bit harsh causing the shadow on Jennifer's right eye a bit dark. And to be very picky, if it was my pic I'd crop a bit from the top to loose the bright strip on the left (both minor points).
Having said that I think you've done a really good job - well taken.

Great shot with good detail, and having had a scan through your pf, I think this is your best shot at this site in daylight - well taken.

Althought - is Photomatix different to using 'Photoshop CS3, several layers, adjustment layers and layer masks'?

Great light and exposure - I'm not sure, but maybe would have cropped a bit off the bottom.

Well taken

Very good colours and tones - a well controlled shot. I agree with Lesley and would have cropped out the boat poking in from the right.

Particularly like the depth of field and the way you've picked out the seeds on the grass.

The Ferry's Arrival

The Ferry's Arrival by derekhansen

I think you have taken a great shot, but sadly won't get the votes you deserve. First mistake is that you've uploaded a mono image and thus you can't boost the saturation and you haven't put a rock in the fore ground!!!!! School boy error. But I love it

Derfinitely has a lot more punch than your previous upload - the sky is more dramatic and generally the image is more gritty.

Very nice peaceful shot - good composition and exposure. Only slight negatives - I think you have a couple of dust bugs just below the horizon on the left and a hair in the top right hand corner. I do like the photo though.

Really like the minimal composition, with great layers into the background. Good luck with Mono on this site - you'll need it. But keep going.
