I am glad I dont live near you ... I would hate to be photographed by you when going along my own way. You really capture peoples emotions so well.
The way you process your images also is great.

Whenever I perceive discomfort or hostility I avoid taking pictures and eventually erase the ones already captured. It happens not so frequently in England but very frequently in other countries
This really is first-class work, Al. There are strong oblique lines in the composition - e.g. the line of heads - and the reflection adds interest. Your monochrome is always excellent.

Quote: Thank you......this is a brilliant series......keep them coming.......you will have enough for a book soon.

Speaks for me as well, and I also agree with Phil:
Quote: Another really good capture of expression and life. Love the clarity of the newspaper
Confined, claustrophobic, everyone so close together but so isolated. The reflections add to that sense. The headline that you've captured is the cherry on the cake, it spells out bleak.
Moira
I have decided to give my award to this picture. It is given in relation to many of your pictures in this series and not just for this one in particular. I very much like your style of work which is quite unique (in my eyes). There are many images on this site which are technically brilliant but they have much in common with many other photographers. Landscapes, birds, posed portraits, still life shots etc, etc. All are truly excellent but I like to see something different and so far I have not seen your style replicated by others. The thing I like in particular is that each time you look at one of your photographs there is always something you did not see last time.

Yes, like Moira, I also noticed that the headline said it all! Another wonderful shot!

Congratulations on the well deserved award....
I rarely have the opportunity to travel on public transport of any kind, but when I do, I find the characters endlessly fascinating. If I lived in an area that had public transport, I'd spend every day on it, just for the photo ops.
You show the many, many faces and moods of humanity.
Most excellent - congratulations on well deserved awards ![]()

You have caught the amazing atmosphere of travelling in the tube so well, nobody wants to make eye contact ever it seems. Your images all have a very good vagueness in the yeso f the passengers while still being so crisply sharp, candids with the twist of travelling in a closed box jammed against each other, but miles apart at the same time.
Congratulations on the well deserved accolades .

Another excellent shot in this style. You capture the people just right. Are you using Silver Efex Pro for the BW conversions? It looks like it. Does a nice job of it if it is. I find it an excellent plugin.
Wonderful shot. The contrast is just right as is the "mood".
Just spotted the "Baker Street" sign through the window to the left. Reminds me of a song ![]()
