Good composure with depth and lovely colours and tones.

An evocative shot, well caught. The empty houses on an abandoned island in the sunshine is evocative of a past golden age which was, in the scheme of things, as fleeting as the brief sunshine that was used to capture the 'moment' so well. It also illustrates the fact that a good telephoto zoom is essential in taking landscape photographs - which goes against the oft used adage that for landscapes you need a wide angle lens. It also shows that you had your eyes open and your brain in gear. Wink

Great shot. Perfect and imaginative use of depth of field. The tree and the background are out of focus but the gravestone and the lower branches, which are in line with the stone, are in sharp focus. This really concentrates the eye on the main object of the picture, the stone, but puts the whole thing in its locational context.

Drama! I like the sunlight in the mid ground and as has been said the small cottage, which is catching the light, gives the whole picture a sense of scale and grandeur. Well done.

Hello Mark

You have the making of a very good photograph here. I see from your profile that you want feedback, so please accept this as a positive comment.

The subject is great. The photograph is overexposed in the top left corner, a tighter crop would cure that and also make the photo stronger. A little sharpening and saturation in photoshop would also help.

This shows that you have one very important thing though, the ability to spot a good image.

Well done and keep at it.

Good frozen action. The reds stand out well against the almost monochrome water.

It's bold, it's brash, it's got creels in it. It gets my vote.

Nice lighting. Why didn't you shoot in portrait mode though?
