My husband is looking for a hobby to occupy his time when he retires.

At the end of last year, we were at Austin Vintage Guitar to put John's Gibson 1968 Heritage on commission. He is hoping to buy an an electric guitar with headset so he won't bother me when he is playing - or maybe he's planning on tuning me out Wink

Special thanks to Moira for her UA for my image of the opium poppy, Papaver somniferum.

Thanks for looking,

Anne

So I take it he's still just looking Anne! I know nothing about guitars other than to admire them for their beauty, and the craftsmanship that goes into making them. Does he already play a guitar, or other musical instrument, or do you have to suffer hearing him learn how, poor you if the latter!
Rgds., Jim

That is one superb crop. I doubt I'll be alone in seeing part of a face, albeit a surreal one. Excellent tones, too.
I assume that the instrument is an acoustic bass; I have never seen one with blue strings! The patterning on the fingerboard suggests a class instrument . . .
Regards
Bill

Saw the face as well. Could have been worse... it could be the violin he's looking to learn on.

First thought - there's a face and it's winking at me....
Parts of the whole - Yes it's something that I appreciate. A little can say a lot.
As for that dangerous age that men go through as they face retirement, be thankful that it's an electric guitar not a very powerful motor cycle, and be grateful for the headset! Wink

Very good piece of work Anne, a lovely clean cut image of a lovely looking instrument.
Good luck with putting up with your Hubby in his own little world, Smile but sounds like a worthwhile hobby to me.

Yes, must be an acoustic bass, only having the four strings. A superb close-up capture, Anne Smile

I love the tight, frame filling crop.
Regarding the '68 Gibson. Don't let John sell it. He will regret it for the rest of his life.

The three dark wood elements in this imaginative abstract do seem to be aDali inspired face, Anne.
Wonder how this would be in b&w...
