Recovering from a hopeless original shot, showing before and after my photoshopping.
The shot was taken as a single exposure just in passing, i had no tripod so took the exposure for the backlight only, in the thought i could do something about it after.
V2 shows the untouched exposure.

Quite incredible how you've turned that around. Very atmospheric now.
Quote: Wow - very good. You should write a description of the treatment.
I agree with Eli. It would be great to learn how to achieve an image like this. Such beautiful tones and colours. Wonderful atmosphere.

You`ve done a very good job on this shot. Wish I had the same talent with p/s.

I like V2 as it is real and a good image as it stands. V1 is very nicely worked and more other-worldly.
Chris
You've definately worked some magic there my friend! Superb outcome!

thank you all for your comments. much appreciated.
As far as how i achieved the shot, in a nut shell there were a lot of layers copied from the original shot then they had the levels altered to different states of contrast etc, then used different opacity on the eraser tool to blend all the different layers together.
I also blended through some colour tinted and slightly blurred layers to add the glow and used a mask to then paint through the new look to how the light fell.
V.1 shows just what can be done to an image to get the best from it. Great stuff. Andy
This really shows just what can be achieved with an image these days. Very well done
I think you have made the most of this one![]()
