I took this photo about half an hour ago just after it had stopped raining. My mom once showed me a photo where her freind had captured the rain and so it inspired me to try it... problem with the lense i have is that i cannot zoom all the way in and then stand closer as it just wont take the photo but i am saving up so i can get the right one for this technique... i would love some advise for what i could have done to make this image look more proffessional?

A gorgeous flower, the water droplets give a beautiful added extra!
You've coped brilliantly, considering you haven't used a macro lens!
I took your image into Photoshop Elements 9 (I only know the basics, so have only given a few tweaks here and there).
First of all I went into 'Enhance' > Adjust Lighting > Levels and pulled the arrow to the left (lightening the image). Then I took it into 'Quick Edit' and slightly adjusted the 'Midtones and Highlights'. I cropped a little here and there and finally resized ready for upload. After you've resized any image for upload always go in and sharpen it a little (it makes all the difference!). ![]()
You can find the 'Mod' in the Junior Group area.
thank you.... i am slightly confused with this tho:
'First of all I went into 'Enhance' > Adjust Lighting > Levels and pulled the arrow to the left (lightening the image). Then I took it into 'Quick Edit' and slightly adjusted the 'Midtones and Highlights'. I cropped a little here and there and finally resized ready for upload. I'm sorry - I didn't explain it very well!
Photoshop Elements 9 is a programme you can buy for your computer (Elements is a lot cheaper then buying the full Photoshop programme), to enable you to adjust your images. There are free programmes you can download from the internet (Gimp is one, but there are others). ![]()
Of course, we all try to get things right when we take the photo, but sometimes a little help can really bring the image to life! ![]()

Hi Storm.
The free imaging software FastStone has been recommended on here. Maybe you could download it and give it a try?
Let us know, in the Junior Group forum, how you get on with it.
