Hi Grin

Thanks so much for all the clicks n comments on 'Don't mess with me!', means a lot.

A break from SPs today..a welcome break I am sure you're thinking. I had forgotten about this image that I took the other week whilst at the coast. It's nothing special, I wasn't sure about uploading it but thought I would share it anyway. I have been told Mikbee likes rust, perhaps this is his kind of image. Smile

"I love this for everything it stands for?"

A sign of strength, a sign of defiance, and above all a sign of power and determination against all the worldly odds and the forces of within.

Regards Nathan

Excellent composition Kaleena, love the sweeping lines and the contrasts in texture. Great dof and superb pov

It's a very good image with great detail. I think you might have made it a stronger image by focussing on the second or third bolt with the same shallow dof, just my opinion of course.

Really excellent blend of shallow dof with strong composition. I like the suggestions of sea, beach, a bigger picture just hinted at.

A smashing piece of creative dof work, well done. I think the image looks even better in portrait style.
Nice one.

Hit the nail on the head there, Kaleena. I've always wanted to ask where you're supposed to focus when doing a line with a shallow dof. I think the angle you've got then focusing on the first is best. To focus further down I think you'd need to come out a little.

Getting down to the nuts and bolts now I see....! Wonderful DOF shot, and everything 'ruler straight'. Like it a lot.

This is the view I would certainly have used, the background no more than a hint yet easily interpreted in this strong composition. Colours, textures, perspective spot-on.
While I like the idea of moving out and focusing on another bolt, lots might object if the foreground were blurred.
