Way back on Friday 13th July, 2007 I bought my first DSLR, a Pentax K100d. I have spent the morning looking back at the early images I took with it, and I thought I would post this example. I still use it regularly, it has taken over 24,000 pictures and never lets me down.
These days I have a Sigma 17-70 sort of permanently attached. My K5 usually has the 10-20 or 70-200 attached.
I reckon the old camera does pretty good and I enjoy the memories the camera gives me.
The image was taken at the 2007 Model Aircraft Championships, Barkston Heath.

What a superb model of a Sabre. Eventhe 50 cals showing. Very nice and verynicely recorded. You have to look very close to see this is a model. Well done. Providing the camera is look after reasonably well it should do 50K or more shots. My EOS 20D is over 30K images and I leave it attached to the 50/500 Sigma so that it canbe quickly used. It's been passed the 9999 three times and never blinked.

Thank you Willie.
Paul,
thanks, it was well worth the effort for me to push to the front of the onlookers to get the shot. Sadly I did not see it fly, however I was told that the ammo chains worked.
Ha, I have had a shock ! I did a check and my 24,000 shots turned out to be 33,641. Hope it keeps going a bit longer. If you have the chance Paul, come to the next champs, they are held in August and are very close to the A1 near Grantham, it really is a fun weekend with fantastic photo opportunities.
Richard.
