Yes a great capture of a really flighty bird.
IF I ever got to see one I know I would not manage anywhere near as good as this.

Impressive image Anne. I'm not a "birdy" man but the detail and colour on this is excellent to me, as far as composition/cropping is concerned I haven't got a clue but to me this again is excellent. Hope the hospital thing isn't too serious.

regards

Bill

As you say a very quick bird Ann and you have done extremely well to capture it. On looking though you have not done the bird justice. Being Britains smallest bird does not meen you have to crop it this large to get in close. By doing this you have lost definition in places and caused so much noise. By not cropping in so much you would have a more detailed Goldcrest, less noise and a far better image. This is a great shot and don't ruin a very good image by cropping in too close.

Two delightful shots that highlight why this bird has the name it has! Wink Can't agree with MossyOak above though, having just looked at far noisier shots than this. When its obtrusive then its too much. When it isn't then it ain't. And IMHO in these shots is ain't.

Super capture to add to you PF Ann. One I would dearly love in my PF - only have one record shot but fingers crossed ..one day! I do agree with Richard and Ray on this one - it is not somuch the noise that bothers me as the softer plumage detail in V1. V2 works well for me though.

He has a very aggressive look about him, with his little punk, yellow mohawk.

"Don't mess with me, crazy foool!!"

I hadn't seen this one yesterday Ann. I actually prefer view two and three for the detail and natural environment. This is a difficult bird to spot. I saw my first one a week ago in the middle of a fir tree. Sylvia
