I went out alone yesterday and it was almost lovely after that rain of the previous day, I was able to fiddle with controls on the camera and reminded myself of a thing or two "tripod as well" woohoo! initially my exp was all wrong and I could NOT understand where I was going wrong or why but eventually realised I had been playing in the garden with the settings and I was set on manual just in time to get this great shot - well I think it is and defy anybody to say otherwise heheh! thanks for all c/c's on yesterdays images, not everybodies cup of tea but I had thought it worth showing you (win some lose some) dull start to our day here but hopefully it will brighten up - special thanks to Ron (Maiwand for giving me the nod on where to find this little beauty)

Top marks here Ann, but why swith from manual, its the easiest way to control the camera....lol
Such a difficult bird to get and patience paid off here. In the open in a thick reed bed and detailed very well and also exposed nicely. Your best for ages by far
Terrific capture
Richard
Really really good Ann! Depth, focal clarity and composition are all bang on here!
Top shot!
Andy
Ann, the detail here is superb and the tones of the whole picture blend so well.
Excellent shot

I agree Ann, you've got to give things a try...some people like them, some don't, you can't please everybody!
Quote: one of your best shots
I must agree, this is superb, such cracking detail and clarity. Just a shame about the bit reed in front of it
, but that's a minor niggle, the image is a real cracker, Ann, so it gets an award from me.

A splendid shot of this lovely little bird, you should be extremely pleased with this one
Certainly one if not the best from you for a while Ann, congrats on the award too,
Geoff.
