I really like this picture, you say it's very dark in the picture but it wasn't when you took it....
To me the reason why it stands out is because it's dark! the silhoutte of the birds and what appears to be a rock that they are sitting on,really draw you to the picture.
Lovely picture great composition,well done,hope I'd get one like this sometime.

A very nice silhouette of recognisable objects, with an unusual coloured sky. If it were mine I would crop a bit from the left hand side and almost half of the black from the bottom to throw more emphasis onto the birds. But the viewpoint is excellent.

I like it, and would even consider darkening it a little more. As Michael said, i would also chop a little off the left to make it less central.
