Its a nice shot in thats it a little unusual for this site. The mono is a good choice, - and I would guess you chose it to try to handle the glare from the water.
When the glare is toned down a little more, - and the shot is cropped closer to remove the vertical white line, it can look better, - as in the mod.

I would have stayed with colour. The total range existing was tight due to the sun and that has made the blacks a bit heavy and intermingled. Colour would have supplied the difference in tones. There seems to be a fashion to use mono and it is often not the ideal vehicle for an image.
