Messing about with beads and rose petals on a white plate. Used CL-25WF lighting kit with diffuser bounced to ceiling, and a silver reflector. My aim was to achieve a little section sharp but to show off the soft colours of the petals - shot on f5.6.
Feel free to critique, as I'd like to do much more of this kind of shot.

Hi Ali. Great to see you back, and sounding so technical too. I hope you're not in danger of taking it too seriously as I always loved your sense of fun. ![]()
I love what you've done with the floaty colours at the top and overall it looks splendid. I just feel I want a touch more definition at your focal point... even if it was only on the one gem. I tried a mod but the detail is not there to pull out.

So good to see you posting again. I have thought of you often and wondered how you are doing.
I like the feeling of this. If I were to change anything, it would be a tighter crop, I think there is a bit too much space at the top. Also just a bit finer focus on the "in-focus" bead. It has a soft and feminine appeal. Hope to see more.....
Welcome back to epz Ali, have yourself a very Merry Christmas, Ed
