This valley is not very large as it only covers 835 Km2. It is elongated on the East-West direction. On the bottom left of the picture there is a circular plaza that is actually the geometrical center of the valley. In this picture the local airport is visible on the upper right and the approaching small airplane will give you a sense of depth.
I live pretty much on the middle to the right of this image. My building is small (only 5 stories high) so it is not visible. The climate is like spring most of the year reaching a horrible Smile 35C (at the most) during July-Aug. The nickname of the city is "The City of Eternal Spring".
This view is to the East.

A very fine view of your city in mono, Marian. I like it a lot. It must be so nice to live in perpetual spring.

A fine image. With all those tall buildings I suppose you can't see far from your window?

Beautifully sharp image, Marian. I did wonder about that plane until I read your notes - thought you had a bug crawling around in the camera!
The use of graphic b&w gives a futuristic, almost sci-fi look.

'The City of Eternal Spring' sound so inviting - the reality is quite different
by the looks of such a built up area. However 1'm sure many people are perfectly happy
living there. The plane does give this scale.

An excellent over view Marian ( it seems Caracas is making all the wrong headlines, perhaps a photo journalistic outing might be available ?) Mono silence.

Although is very tempting Ron, I have realized that I cannot keep my head on the settings when things get though and I have to run. There have been 8 people killed, and hundreds wounded with gunfire shot by the national guard and the police. They have orders to confiscate cameras and even hit badly an international reporter. I won't be getting any exciting pictures, sorry.

The mountains and the weather are wonderful, they are the only perpetual beauty of this valley.

I used a preset mode in my Nikon, it is "High Contrast Monochrome".

I can see the mountain when I go the to the rooftop terrace to spy on the Cubans that live in the hotel behind my place...mwahahahaha and to hang large clothes to dry. Smile
Thanks for the comments and votes,
Marian
