Many thanks to all who voted/commented yesterday, and extra big thanks to Peter, Nigel, and The Captain for their UAs !!
Nice shot and it work so well in B&W
This is a majestic landscape, Alan.
Immensely good! The light is spectacular and the textures in the landscape are so well portrayed, magnificent Alan! Cheers for the award yesterday, it made my week!
Good shot! I might have been tempted to crop out the right corner but that is just me!
Great mono image Alan
The word is majestic for this one, Alan. Love the pool of light.
good use of the natural light
The dark silhouetted tree bottom centre puts it all into perspective. I wondered about the top right corner but it does add to the scale well.

Exactly, Dave. It gives context, adds depth, and makes sense of things. Cheers mate.
Lines, textures, shapes. And plenty of craggy bits. Stunning.
I scarcely recognise the area, devoid as it is of horizontal rain and mad cyclists
Lovely stuff that wee oasis of light is pure
'Context'.... that's the word I was trying to find .....
Just excellent landscape!
Interesting how certain characteristics are present in our work. This composition reminds me of your image of horse riders on the beach the one with that bite like shape taken from the top left hand corner. I love the fact that initially it looks like a classical image but that the rebel has to come through in some way or another!
Love that area of light which others have mentioned.
Another very strong one Alan.

Yes, just thought I'd slip that in, thanks for noticing!
How long where you "waiting" for the light with this one?.... You should publish a book

...cost me 60 quid from apple
I can feel the ruggedness of the landscape through the immense texture portrayed....and waiting for that splash of light, paid off! Great image Alan.
I see a man who knows his way around a landscape and has the uncanny knack of capturing it at its very best. Superb Alan..
A sweeping gritty landscape.. I just see faces in them mountains
This is spectacular Alan. Magnificent contrast, sharpness and composition.
Awesome shot. Like Linda said, it does reminds me of the horses shot, it is that big.
Works a treat in mono
Bite and all....
Ahoy shipmate, Makes me feel small and insignificant in the face of nature... Dramatic art at it's very best.
You are too kind, my Captain. Many thanks. And belay that "small and insignificant" for you are a giant among puppets!!
You know I'll return to live again!
It's the side lighting here that makes this one stand out for me, Alan.
