A heavenly Shikara ride

The Dal Lake in Srinagar in the state of Jammu and Kashmir in India is 8 Km long and has a of width of 4 Km, spreading over a total of 26 Sq. Km.




If one is in Srinagar, boat rides in Dal Lake is an experience. These colourful boats are called Shiksaras and one could just get rowed for hours. You would find floating gardens within this lake, and if you should push the garden down into the lake with a stick, it would float up again. I found people in boats picking up whatever they have grown.
