My visit to Shimla, Sarahan, Sangla, Kalpa, Chitkul & Rampur ..
As we drove from Sarahan to Kulpa, the road became more and more wild, treacherous and adventurous. With the river Sutlej roaring beside us we went up in the mountains smack in the laps of those snow clad peaks. There were huge rock slides & roads were being cleared by people in the Indian Army. We took diversions where two cars could barely pass between the river and wall of mountains of bare rocks.
The Sutlej River, which originates from the Tibetan Plateau, is the longest of the five rivers that flow through the historic crossroad region of Punjab in northern India.
