It was the pockets that caught my eye, then all the other colours too. She had a strong sense of purpose, which I liked. It was a warm day. I took a risk focussing the lensbaby in the middle of a road whilst trying not to be hit by a car!

This is going to be rather negative I'm afraid. I know you will get some rave reviews but I spent a lot of years shooting industrial images and these things that ruin image quality are not for me - AT ALL.
Someone is making a lot of money selling these toys trying to tell us it's art. Sorry - one of my soap box topics1
Paul
Well thank you Paul. Seriously. I like that it generated a strong feeling. You've brightened my day and I welcome your strong opinions any time. Of course to give is to receive and all that and unsurprisingly I totally disagree with you on a few points:
1. Your post suggests I have been persuaded something is art when it isn't and other people are exploiting me.
I have my own opionion on what, to me, is art. I am lucky enough to have been able to decide entirely on my own adult merit that I like the effect a lensbaby produces and I am very happy to have rewarded their innovation with a purchase.
I've spent many a pleasurable night with friends debating whether comedy is the only subject artform (is a joke a joke if you don't find it funny). You have presented a strong argument for the case that it isn't - suggesting that art isn't art if you don't like it.
2. The suggestion that the image quality is ruined suggests to me that you could be stuck within a paradigm of someone elses definition of what image quality is...... Just because it's a popular opinion, doesn't make it right.... one of my soap box topics.
3. That it will get rave reviews! What's that all about? In my dreams!
