Born To Be Wild

Born To Be Wild by widtink

Wow if I was new to digital photography and didn't have any imaging software and yet still produced a shot like this I'd be dead chuffed! I much prefer these sorts of documentary shots to posed portraits and love the contrast between the two hairy biker dudes engrossed in conversation and the envious/curious onlookers in the background. I've just bought "The Great LIFE Photographers" book and this wouldn't look out of place in there!

Possibly as suggested increasing the contrast and darkening the top of the sky a tad might work but I think its a brilliant image as it is!

(can you tell I like this a lot!)

I prefer V2 though possibly with a bit more contrast. Its a shame about the window in the background, without that I think this would have been a cracking image.

Lovely image, with excellent exposure and lots of detail. Bet it would make a great mono print!

Great shot and excellent mono teratment giving an unusal for a well photographed image. Have you tried rotating it slightly clockwise, as to me it appears to be tilted down to the LHS?

Funny this doesn't work me as I either expect this to be a golden beer or if B&W then Guinness!

Like it, I've done something similar but the detail in yours is much better.

Excellent work, the only slight issue I have is with the white line down the centre of the picture which at first glance gives the impression that its a shot of a 2 page magazine spread. But then maybe that was the intention?

Dried Lemon Close up

Dried Lemon Close up by John_Fields

Hi John,

I'm no still life expert but personally this falls betwen two stools: its not sufficiently close to concentrate on the detail in the lemon slices nor on the other hand does it capture all of the bowl and the left hand slice.

Hope this helps,

Simon
