I took a new friend to an old haunt of mine today, and realised it is 23 years since I left there, Things have changed in that time but others remain just as I knew them. I am referring to Capel Manor College and Gardens in Enfield, Middlesex.
I was a student there studying Supervision and then Parks and Recreation Management. I did ok and passed my institute exams and gained promotion at work. Later I returned to Capel Manor as a lecturer and had a desk in the attic rooms of this lovely old building.

I have to admit that I failed to cover myself in Glory in my short time there though it was an experience I would not want to have missed.

Over the years since I left Capel Manor has continued to thrive and expand and the Gardens have matured into a unique and inspiring centre of excellence in horticulture and gardening.

I can now only make amends for past failings by recommending that you visit Capel Manor Gardens for a lesson in how to present gardening in the best possible way. I guarantee you will come away inspired with a camera full of images.

Have just come back from a few days in Upper Weardale: the buds on the trees have just started to come into leaf!!!
Again I've enjoyed your photos of another lovely part of England. Thank you, Ken..

Cheers,

Jack
