It is a nice shot. I did a bit of tidying - removing (most of) the circular highlights, the brownish patch on the right and softened the edge of the in focus leaf on the left. These things tend to distract. Ideally, the dark area on the left would be filled with green (which wouldn't be hard to do) to make it more uniform. Such a nice picture of the flower, you don't want anything to compete.

I would not change a thing, I like the out of focus leaves in the BG ( great dof here)
great color, nice detail.
After looking at Sue's modification, I can see what she is getting at and like her modification. However, the original works for me too! Smile
You win both ways.

This is a nice shot of the lily with some really nice colour but it is somewhat central in the frame.
I have offered 2 mods for your consideration: the first crops LHS to pull the flower off-centre; in the second I have had a go at simplifying the image by placing it on a plain black background. I also rotated the flower a little so it is on a third and "looking" into space.
Flowers often look better against a plain background and it can be achieved on camera by placing card or similar behind it.
I hope you like.
Phil

This is a nice shot as it stands. I would have cloned out just the one prominent highlight and maybe added a little brightness, but the image is good.

Thanks for the comments everybody, after I uploaded it I looked again and that circular highlight niggles me, thanks for the spending the time and effort to critique it/mod it. Its always good to get other peoples feedback - otherwise how do we get better ?

Another thought: I like Sues mods, cloning out that highlight is a good idea. I feel the leaf on the left is a little over softened.
I think seeing flowers in isolation is great (i.e. replacing the background with card) and I enjoy this kind of photo, but at the same time I like to see things in context and the leaves around provide that.
