a good shot, in my view, yet i would have some comments to makeSmile

the light coming from the back is very strong, maybe just a slight curves adjustment would have done great to make the highlights just a bit less strong; also, there is more light on the belly of the character than on his face; maybe a little fill-in light would help; otherwise, it works just fine with the high contrast you've got here.

one more remark; how about cloning out the top of that bottle in the left? because it is white, it catches the eye and prevents it from focusing on the image as a whole and on its message.

my final suggestion, the face alone tells quite a story, but if you go for the title Tales of an Old Man i think a little more of the girl on the left would have completed the image perfectly, as the little girl's pose is wonderful.

all in all, a strong and impressive shot; and what i personally liked most was the position of the hand; it would look great with even a little more sharpness on it.

just a couple of minor possible improvements and it would make perfect, starting form an already very good photoSmile

kind regards
