hmm, im not really sure if i even like this shot, i think its a nice comparison to my previous upload but i think its missing something, any suggestions?

perhaps i just need to stop taking shots of flowers without a macro lens, its corrupting my brain

Purely from an aesthetic point of view, I thought, what a shame the rose wasn't at the stage when the petals are loose, so that they are actually starting to drop. I like the idea of the dying rose though. Must stress I'm a complete amateur with photography, so just my point of view.

I think this is a really great shot and don't understand why it does not have a ton more hits on it. I like the tight close-up, texture and detail that is sharp, as well as the texture in your background. Also like the fading beauty of the color. Very nice image!
