Great first attempt Paola. I usually use iso 100 and very slow shutter speeds at f5.6 with tripod. Try putting your camera on its B stop and use a cable release then count off the seconds. If the photo is not bright enough do it again but with a longer exposure. I have used exposures of 1.5 minutes for some effects (usually where there is only one street light).
