Last week my neighbour, a hermit, asked me to take some photographs of a candlelight procession he was organising. It meant really pushing the envelope of my trusty Canon 40D at the maximum of 1600 iso. Coming back into the church my lens completely misted up, but I took some shots anyway. On the screen it didn't look like anything, but when I put it on the computer it looked quite atmospheric with a bit of adjusting.
To show you what it looked like after the lens cleared, I uploaded a shot yesterday night that I took 10 minutes after this one, from the same position. You can see it here

preferred yesterdays Rende but good to have a comparison - great work
In a strange way I think I prefer this one, in that my glasses would have misted up under similar circumstances and set the atmosphere for the ensuing ten minutes. Atmospheric it certainly is, in particular with the beams of light emanating from the candles that are not visible in the de-misted version as well as the 'holy glow' that Brother Hugo might just appreciate!

Magical image Rende, maybe not the religious image they would have liked but I certainly do. Heavy on the incense burning? It's worked a treat and added just the right amount of mystery.

I definitely prefer this one, for mystery and atmosphere.
I do wonder if Brother Hugo, with his passion for English comedy, has encountered Father Ted yet...
