Someone who values aesthetics over practicality....
It's a curious image, three totally disparate elements - the semi-abstract background, the little world in the reflection and the wildly garish colours of the artificial flowers. Together they make something special. Unlike kingfishers, you are not going to find someone else uploading a near-identical image on the same Gallery page - that matters more and more here.

not at all like kingfishers or my mage, never the less, a bike and decorated and cared for well-- Good eyes and a well done image!

The tiny reflection is a story in itself, and rather fine it is too. The background graffito suggests a failed advertisement for something by Panasonic, while the floral mute is hilarious Smile Beautifully observed, humorous and even a little thought-provoking.

I think Moira has summed this one up very well. It looks like a pretty new bike to me, very shiny handlebars and bell, and neat clean leathers on the grips; most hippy bikes have a certain patina of age about them. Maybe this is a wedding bicycle (made for two?).

I have seen weddings on a bicycle, so maybe this was used for one too. The town where I took this photo, Groningen, is a university town with lots of bicycles. A fairly recent trend is to decorate them with artificial flowers and/or spray paint. Quite a cheerful sight Smile I was waiting for one to show up with a bit of an interesting background .
