With an adapter I can mount my 35 year old Pentax lenses on my Sony Nex camera. I'm surprised at the quality; it looks like the main developments in lenses in the past 35 years have been in image stabilisation and zoom-ability.........

Pentax always did make good glass Rende and you certainly show it here. Lovely colour rendition and what a find in amongst the rust.
I'm looking at this camera and the Fuji xPro 1, but as yet the lenses are the problem and the crop sensors. All of my lenses are for full frame cameras my wide angles would become less wide. The best images I've seen from all of these cameras are with wide aperture lenses sand slightly longer than 35mm focal length.
I suppose I could get the Nikon D4 and be able to use my Nikkor 14-24mm on their FF sensor, but then all my very good Canon lenses would be defunct.

The quest goes on my friend,

Dougie

Awesome quality Rende, the NEX 7 is double the price of the 5N, not sure if the improvements warrant this though so I think it will be the 5N for me.

The quality really is exceptional, Rende. Mind you, the subject, viewpoint and composition are exceptional too Wink

I really appreciate the ability to attach Nikon prime lenses to my G2 via an adapter. Admittedly mine are all AF lenses, but the adapter is manual and the only Auto function that works is Exposure. I can't use the latest generation of lenses, of course, because they lack aperture rings......

Bill

I'm often struck by the very flowery pastel shades found in rust. This is so pretty. Agree completely about the quality of old lenses - image stabilisation and quality of zoom lenses are the changes. Mind, I do like zoom...

Knew immediately from the thumbnail this was yours. Your signature colours, and very special eye. Beautiful.

It certainly has brought out these fine colours Rende.
I wish I could do that with my old Minolta lenses.
I have a selection of f2.8 prime lenses,and a 50mm f1.2,that I wish I could use.
I am thinking about going back to film, and scanning the negs' so I can use them too !!
