Showing this is a bit risky, but here is a self portrait I took back in the 80's. It was around 1989 and I was just out of college (I studied Music and Photography in Chicago). During that time, I was performing with a number of bands and I took this portrait as a promotional photo for a CD.
As for the photo, I liked how the lighting brought out the lines in the neck of the guitar and the contrast jumps out at you. I wanted a lot of shadows but wanted to highlight the shape of the guitar and the hair (of course…)
