Primary school, Ghana.
The teacher saw me taking photographs of the village, actually invited me in and I was offered food!
Can you imagine that happening in the UK?

both brilliant shots and each one has such a different mood to it.
outside a school with a camera here!! you'd be invited in...to the cop shop maybe
This is what photography is all about........Life as we see it. The overall image is perfect, but iI prefer the B/W version purely because it gives the image a greater feel. Maybe a tad to tightly cropped bottom and right but thats not the end of the world. I hope this gets the votes it deserves and makes it into the best of the weeks images. Pin sharp, great Dof and all the kids staring at the camera, Brilliant. I hope you send the school a copy they will be pleased. Regards Richard
Superb image - excellent photography !
Love both versions - Chris
I have to agree with all the above comments. This is a truly stunning capture with great use of a shallow DOF.The childrens eyes say it all and it is definitley the mono version for me.
Kids are kids the world over, nd they look so neat and tidy, beautiful eyes and a superb mono image, the colour is good too, but somehow the mono just sparkles. Unusual indeed to be asked into a school nowadays, all photographers are viewed with suspicion because of a few bad eggs.
Great work again here Stevie.
What a great image and very appropriate for Children in Need. Sylvia

Yes, you will be invited in and they will lock you up in the classroom and call the police if it is in the UK.
I really do find your travel photography excellent, Stevie. Well done.
If you started taking pictures around a school in London you'd probably be arrested.
V1 for me. Very nice image. Your whole portfolio is good in fact.
yep well done Stevie, deserves all the badges and UA's, a truly stunning shot...
Cracking image I'm with Dave U! It has everything & yes the B&W version is better simply because it makes it timeless & the colours are not a distraction though you could mute these if you saw fit. It must have been a real treat to be there & to get the invite to take this. As Ian Flindt says the expressions on the faces really capture the attention. Well done a well deserved image of the week.
Great image, would like to see a little more room for the foot at the bottom of the image though. I guess you were looking at those eyes
India is great for this type of experience. When kids see you taking street shots they run to be in them. I've seen adults push their kids into the shot...their only reward to see their image on the view screen. Its so rewarding to see their faces light up. How I miss those experiences.
What I find strange about this Image is had this been taken in an english school you would see kids making faces, smiling, ect.
Here they are totally focused on the camera with such serious looks, The faces say something but I carnt quite figure what.
Mono photography at its best
The photographs are really great. They really tell a story. I just love the mono ... ![]()
