OH YES IT FLIPPIN' WELL DOES!!! ![]()
The Boss & I decided to head out to see the Gormleys last night at sunset, and wandered up to the swimming baths end and the outlet pipe (don't ask what it lets out!) ![]()
As per usual, being somewhat braver than I, MrS marched straight down the pipe, clambering over the supports (and doing his knees no good at the same time), so I took myself to the water's edge, having seen the light catching the notice at the end of aforementioned pipe.
Anyway, back to cameras wot tell fibs!
Although this may look like a mill pond, I can assure you the waves were heading towards me at at least 4,000 miles an hour, and from standing on a bit of sand (albeit a rather gloopy bit) when I pressed the shutter for this 2 and a half minute exposure, by the time I released said shutter, the water was threatening to fill my wellies (yet again) and in classic Monty Python terminology I determined it was time to "RUN AWAY!!!!" ![]()
Hope you like - thanks for stopping by ![]()

I'm going off to cry now...
Bill
Me thinks the camera is a bad, bad liar and that this here picture looks more tranqil and calm than you describe. Lovely shot
Lissa
The light at the horizon balances the darker sea and sky really well. The movement in the cloud the glassy water and the dark blue all work together to produce a beautiful image Fran.
Derek
this is as good as the other two
can i ask was there a bus trip on to this location ??
nice capture brilliant colours Ian
Stunning capture! I love the lighting from the setting sun. The square format does this image justice. Well seen and executed.
Sheer excellence, great exposure and a nice bit of Sunday Squareness to boot.
Michael
A true blue capture. Well worth the trouble. Sylvia
What glorious light and crisp detail Fran - worth the nearly wet wellies. I like the square crop (I'm drawn more and more to this myself - it must be the old 2¼ square days coming back!)
Mike
got a feeling it'll get a big fat badge this one Fran, cracker
worth getting water in your wellies for, Fran.
I must go not been in ages

Really beautiful. I've just got an email saying my Big Stopper dispatched today ![]()

Sorry Fran I thought I had commented on this, I've lost the plot at the moment. You really do like this square style, it does suit the cool blues and nicely composed also. No sliding down mucky pipes for you.
Dougie
Nice in its simplicity. Looks like you're really enjoying that new filter. Hope you've got a little seat to while away the minutes in comfort ![]()
