I had to get up super-early (well, for me)!! for the drive up to Keswick.

I was intending on Photographing Blencathra when I saw this scene unfold in the other direction.

Great view, but seems a little red, and you lose some of the mountain tops in the clouds (such a pain when everything else fits but they stubbornly refuse to move!)

Beautiful panorama. I like the clouds sitting on the top of the hills - after all that's about as high as they ever get in the Lakes! Good one.

I think as it is the mountains in the clouds doesnt quite work - i think you need to include slightly more sky to give then a place in the shot, at the moment it looks like there isnt enough space for them to fit properly in the shot and youve just cut them off. Colour is just about right - maybe a little red, but mostly thats because of the early morning light. I stood in pretty much the same spot 2 months ago - and these mountains were covered in a snow & hail storm - very dramatic.

I love the setting and mood but to me the colours look contrived as in too vivid to be real. However remember I am an Aussie who lives in drought affected outback bush and it has been a long time since i was in the UK 'what does green look like? Smile

Thanks for the comments,
the colours look fine on the printed version.

I have another version with a little more sky in the frame. I will re-visit it for a second look and perhaps darken the clouds a little.

This is a superb shot and even more so when you consider we have no control over nature and can only shoot what we see !
