Nice image as ever. Where is the bridge? - it looks like the Tyne Bridge but I am just being curious . . . .

Beauty and the Beast!

Well the Integrale is indeed a work of beauty but I think you are being a little harsh on the model . . . . . . . Smile

Red & Black

Red & Black by Eastlands

Nice image.

Re background - these three ways are easy and effective

Duplicate the image - add a gaussian blur - use the eraser with about 70% opacity to erase the blurred portrait to reveal the original bottom layer.

OR

Duplicate the image - use the clone bush to remove the distractions - add a gaussian blur - use the eraser with about 70% opacity to erase the blurred portrait to reveal the original bottom layer.

OR

Duplicate the image - add some diffusion to soften it - add a gaussian blur - use the eraser with about 70% opacity to erase the blurred portrait to reveal the original bottom layer.

The softening and blurring process could also be used to remove the stray hair and the creases under the eyes and by the right armpit if you feel a need to soften them.

Have fun playing. Smile

A lady ghost

A lady ghost by BBH

Hi,

Would probably benefit from ghost being raised and moved to left into the darker area to make the perspective look more realistic. The picture could then be recropped.

If you modify the lady layer to a green adjustment layer before making it monochrome the effect will be better and you will not notice the light sources are in different directions quite so much.

Changing it to monochrome would also mean that you would not notice the vastly different light levels.

Hope they give you something to think about and play with.

Mow Cop Castle

Just for info:

Mow Cop was built as a folly and was never a castle.

help- whats causing the red line?

help- whats causing the red line? by omh debs

I can see the fault. The line appears to be two pixels wide when you blow it up in an imaging package. Looks horribly like a CCD problem if it is always in the same place irrespective of the lens used. I would take a couple of images and overlay them to see if it is in the same place and if it is return the camera to the manufacturer for CCD replacement. Giving the printouts as evidence. Because it is is a perfectly straight horizontal or vertical (unsure whether you cropped the image or rotated the camera) it is unlikely to be a scratch from cleaning etc.

Annoying problem though - hope you get it sorted.

Not wishing to appear churlish but approximately 70,000 children are reported missing in the UK each year.
(Source - UK Police National Missing Persons Bureau.)

It was International Missing Childrens Day yesterday so while this picture puts a focus on one of them don't forget the others who are not fortunate enough to have the media on their side. It is a tragedy for them and their families too.
