About five minutes before this shot the rain was so heavy the hut could hardly been seen, even though it is still raining and I was holding the camera up for only seconds to avoid the driving rain on the lens the sun burst out to produce this dramatic shot of the ‘Scot’ topping the summit at Drumochter with the Great Britain 5 railtour.
The loco is LMS Royal Scot 46115 Scots Guardsman
The summit of the railway line is 452m (1480 ft.), making it the highest in the UK.

That's a fine shot and (according to your narrative) a stroke or two of good luck! Anyway, the results speak for themselves. Are steam locomotives widely used in the U.K.? They disappeared here in the late 1950's and rail travel disappeared shortly thereafter. A shame. Believe it or not; I'm almost 62 years old & have never taken a trip on a train. Drop me a line sometime. Love & Peace.....Duck
After repeated viewings and some mental stretching, I tend to agree that a little cropping of the right and bottom margins could be in order (or at least worth a try). It is, in whatever from, a damn fine picture! As we used to say in the Old Days: Just don't screw up the negative! Love & Peace.....Duck
