Under grey skies a First Great Western HST descends Dainton bank on route to London, the pink of the doors neatly matching the spring flowers
I like the colour coordination - well planned There's a nice contrast between the power and speed of the train and the quietness of the surrounding landscape.
Landscape with passing colour blur... Very evocative.
Love the excitement, colour and vector of the train. You've picked a great spot and shutter speed. I just wonder if reducing the contrast/saturation on the grass may help as it currently slightly distracts from the main subject rather than enhancing it?
I used to see pictures of GW Castles racing up Dainton Bank in railway mags as a boy in Yorkshire. The location
is still evocative of holidays in Devon and Cornwall, a world away from Leeds. The HST does, however, make this
scene a bit like anywhere in the country. The loss of regional identity, colours and stock, in the late sixties; turned
railway travel into a uneventful corporate event.
Nice shot though Robin
