Agree with all that's been said about this characterful gentleman.

I keep looking for people like him but never seem to find them....

As far as the shot goes, you have dealt with the highlights and shadows very well indeed, as they both have detail. Background nicely blurred just enough to concentrate the gaze on the person.

[edit] forgot to mention the catchlights!
